Shorten jail time

Last of my suggestions for today.

I usually make pro police arguments since I think they get the short of the stick, generally being used as an outlet for spoiled kids sociopathic tendancies. Anyway heres something fresh.

Shorten jail time.
Pros- people more likely to accept being arrested over being dead
More realisitic, in real life does everybody who stole a loaf of bread end up shot in the street?
More fun! less time waiting around in jail, long jail time is boring and bored people do stupid things.

Cons-
Shorter jail time means assholes whos definition of rp is to kill everycop you see will be out quicker to carry on. Hopefully the mods and admins can deal with these people though.
Kiddy cops might think its not long enough and decide to kill a person instead in which case they should be demoted (rp wise) to server cat litter tray.

30 mins? people would just leave? I certainly would. Shorter jail time = more fun

I was on a server once, where the police can say /wanted and then a number 1-5. That would be there wanted level. Basically, it worked like this:
1 Star - Somewhere around 30 seconds
2 Stars - Somewhere around 60 seconds
3 Stars - Somewhere around 120 seconds)
4 Stars - Somewhere around 240 seconds
5 Stars - Somewhere around 300 seconds or KOS depending on what the mayor wants

Also, they would play "Bad Boys" (A.K.A The COPS Theme) in jail. It actually took my time of the jail time.

So stealing a Loaf of Bread won't cause the cops to be too serious about it, and they could prioritize who to arrest first.

How about adding this to the server?

That is a good idea but sounds kinda complicated to actually add to the server. If you can get a good coder, you could definitely add that and it sounds like a good system.

I like the sound of the wanted system to me it sounds like GTA and i love that game and i would love it on the server.

We have a good coder. WE HAVE FULCRUM! I also think that Teletric's idea is actually quite good.

Would be nice if that could be added.

I think it's a very good idea. I really hope that idea i bought to live.

As for teletric's idea, I don't think it would be used.

I like it but I doubt people would use it.

Another way might be for the server to assign levels. ITs abit meta though. That is if someone is wanted it begins to count how many kills they have. For each kill they increase in level.

An extension for this might be that wanted people miss their salary, then when they are arrested (not killed) what thye should have got in salary goes to the cop?

I think that a cop should be only kill if another player draws a gun, otherwise failRP (would a irl cop kill somebody for minor crimes?)
