OOC
OOC means Out of Character.
You can type in the OOC chat by typing:
/ooc message
or
// message
Information obtained in the OOC chat can't be applied to your ingame character.
Example:
OOC Someone: I just bought 10 MP5s!
Someone is wanted for Illegal Weapons
Wanted by: Someone2
This is against the rules, it's called metagaming.
Quoting Wikipedia:
In simple terms, it is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions.
Advert
Type /advert message to post an advertisement in the chat.
Advertisements are IC, In Character.
Information here is applied to your character.
If someone sells illegal weapons in the advert channel, he is breaking the law and you can warrant him for that.
g
Type /g message to send a message to your group.
This is IC.
Groups are Police, Gangsters and Mobsters.
This is a private chat which only other players in your job type can read.
For example, police calls for backup in this channel.
cr
Type /cr message to send a message to the police.
If you witness a crime, /cr an armed man entered the pawnshop!
/911 works if you've taken damage.
@
@ message will send message to all online admins on the server.
This means, if you need help from something only admins can help you with, typing @ is good.
Like, @ can an admin freeze my shelves?
Yes, you just type @ like that.
Chat box: [/g Hello group], to admins: [@ Hello admin]
PM
PM is IC and OOC, if you for example see a guy breaking rules, and that guy has been seen by admin X before, you could just save time by /pm X guy is breaking rules here again.
I see PM like a phone if it's IC, I /pm Hello, where are you?
A tip about PM:
PM takes two parameters, Name and Message.
This:
/pm William Busansson Hey!
Would come to me as:
Busansson Hey!
And everyone else who has William in their name, would receive the same message.
If you want to PM me, type the part of my name that is unique for me.
There's no other player named Busansson in last name, nor is there any player named Bu.
So: /pm Bu Hey! Would send a message to only me.
A common mistake is made by people who:
/pm Liam Legend Hey!
That message is ment for Liam Legend.
Since my name is William, that message will also be sent to me.
So, /pm Legend Hey!

Re: Basics
It works any time, also can you explane that you type the name of the suspect and the reason youa re clling the police, oftenly I see "Reported person: Person X| Reason: PersonX" instead of maby "Reported person: Person X| Reason: Has a hostage" (as a cop) If I don't know why he was reported for I need to talk to the person who reported him and than go and find him, most oftenly I lose the track of the reported person in the process.Zeroi9 wrote:/911 works if you've taken damage.
Thank you.
