Moderator powers Empty Moderator powers

Post by daniel507 Wed Jul 10, 2013 9:42 pm

My suggestion is that moderators should have to power to ban people for up to a day. I am posting this due to last nights events with only Louise or Nick Johnson being the only staff on. There was a mass propwar and you could not ban anyone, he kicked them but they just joined back. Giving them this power would help alot.

Bad idea. Mod's are mod's because they aren't experienced and they're not as trusted as admins. End of in my eyes.

problem with a 1 day ban is it is still a ban. If a moderator goes awol currently they can only do damage as long as they are on. So if they want to stop people playing for 2 hours they must be on for 2 hours. IF you give them a 1 day ban they cna just pop on ban all then dissapear. Being banned will put non regulars off the server permanently and make regulars go elsewhere.

I have seen mods and admins throw their toys out the pram and pull stunts like that. It just takes 1 immature member of a rival community to play for a few days to become moderator then fi they had ban they could do serious damage.

Well i think the moderator powers should be:

Kick, Teleport (teleport, goto, bring),Slay,Freeze,Votekick,Jail,Strip weapons,Slap and thats it. They dont need powers like Ignite, ragdoll etc

I personally don't see a use in votekick for Mod. It should be for Premiums and Donators. Only downside to votekick is that if the minge has friends on, they can easily outvote the kick.
